“The computer science diversity gap starts early.” PBS shared that statement over 8 years ago, but there has been little to no progress in computing education, access, and opportunity for Black youth. Only 3% of Black students learn computer science in high school or beyond. Will you help Changing Expectations to create solutions?

Your dedication to the field of computer science has inspired our team to write to you today. We create STEM and coding programs that encourage Black youth to pursue computing careers. I am incredibly appreciative of the part you play in moving our cause ahead.

Since 2009, we’ve helped more than 50,000 Texans learn about STEM and computing through their teachers and mentors. Our work has made such an impact, we were invited to the White House to share our efforts in educating Black and Hispanic children in STEM. We open doors to technical education, increase self-esteem, close opportunity gaps, and improve communities for those who might otherwise have no exposure to STEM. We provide underprivileged students and their teachers with the technical know-how they need to transform the world! What if everyone shared the passion you and I have for community?

Giving Tuesday is November 29th. To provide a semester-long computer science program, we must raise $25,000. Will you help us get there today?

Every $2,500 covers a future computer scientist.

Every $1,000 covers the cost of a student’s materials.

Every $500 covers the cost of meals.

Your contribution is tax-deductible, and our nonprofit recognizes each donation level with an award.

The Gigabyte Award: for every $2,500 donation. The Megabyte Award: for every $1,000 donation. The Kilobyte Award: for every $500 donation.
